Baby Sitter Photoshoot (7–10 Months): Why This Stage Is Perfect to Photograph
Why this stage matters ?
Most of the parents will book a Newborn photoshoot and then wait for the first birthday. But their is something extra special about this age, before they are on the move and start crawling everywhere.
Between 7 to 10 months old, they are happy to sit in one spot, babble away, giggle, laugh and smile at the camera. They don’t need much to just be happy !
This is the stage where personality starts showing up in big ways. The scrunched nose smiles. The serious stares. The way they rock forward like they might crawl… but don’t quite commit yet. It’s fleeting, and it passes faster than anyone expects.
What are Little Sitter sessions ?
I have launched this year the Little Sitter sessions. Dedicated to babies between 7 to 10 months old, who can sit on their own but not yet walk.
This session is short and sweet, only 30 min so they don’t get overwhelmed or tired and still enjoy it.
It’s for babies only with no family portraits. That’s the perfect session to capture their personality at this age, without having to wait for the first birthday and without having to worry about yourself or what to wear.
It’s easy to book, directly on my website, choose your date, pay the session’s fee and voila, as simple as that !
What if feels like during a sitter session ?
Most parents walk in a little nervous. Often it’s their first professional photoshoot and they don’t know what to expect.
They’ll tell me their baby might be shy… or clingy… or that they didn’t nap long enough. And almost every time, within a few minutes, you can feel the tension ease.
There’s no rush.
We follow your baby’s lead. If they need cuddles, they get them. If they want to explore, we let them. If they need a feed mid session, that’s just part of the story.
Your only job is to be close… to smile… to watch them do their thing. I like to ask my clients to sit next to me, by the window, so baby’s face will look towards the light and not the opposite.
If you have a special teddy they like, please bring it.
