There is something timeless about a summer evening spent outdoor with your family. The golden light just before sunset, the tall grass swaying gently in the breeze, the crickets singing and your little one giggling and exploring. This is the perfect backdrop for your summer family photoshoot.
An open field in summer offer so much freedom to your kids, and simple beauty that we don’t get in a studio. It’s a different vibe , and warmer tones.
Children have room to run, play, jump, while you can soak in these moments with them. your only job is to relax and enjoy the moment.
This is how we get the best photos. The genuine smiles and laughter, the look at your partner, thinking this is such a special moment.
Why a field is the perfect setting
Tall grass had texture and depth to your images, creating a soft dreamy feel, that looks beautiful from Summer to Autumn. We can take advantage of the golden hour (the hour before sunset), which add so much warmth to your photos. We will start your session roughly 90 minutes to 60 minutes before sunset, and can shoot until there isn’t enough light for the camera or if your children are tired ( whichever will come first).
What to expect during the session
Your outdoor field session will be relaxed and unposed. I will gently guide you and give you some prompt or games to do with your kids. There will be plenty of time for your children to explore and gather little treasures. We will capture the in-between moments you will want to remember - a tiny hand reaching for a flower or some grass, siblings chasing each other in the grass or a cuddle with Mum.
Think of it less as a photoshoot but more of a nice evening stroll with your family, in your local field, with love and connection at the heart of it.
What to wear
Neutral tones, earthy colours, think brown, beige, white, kaki. A flowy dress for Mum works perfect. A linen shirt for Dad. Bare feet or sandals in the grass bring a sense of freedom and playfulness.
Most importantly, wear something comfortable, so you can feel relaxed during your session and it shows on camera.
